    please include a part where Microsoft recommends these products.

    I don’t understand why Microsoft would recommend a antispyware program that is not their own.

    Jim,

    Called Microsoft’s toll free number to try to fix that YAB.A virus and was asked to download and try those, although I later found that the antivurs address leads imediately to the downloading of the antispyware. That number is 866 727-2338. I was also given MS’ malware center ht tp: //onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm whch is good for Windows 2000 and earlier.

    I called again to tell them it dodn’t work. They tried to help me but I have to try later with another phone – too much static.

    Today they gave me this address

    Adaware 2007 works on only Win 2000 and up.
    Hitman dosn’t work on older Win OSs.
