xml with weird outcome reading

Hi, I used the old tool before but now that you have the new tool available I used it today for 2 of my sites and I’m a bit confused on the result.

When I view the .xml in a browser the readings look like this:

<entry id="efe86b15" url="aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iZXN0bmF1Z2h0eWRlYWxzLmNvbS9pb mRleC5waHA/bW9kdWxlPXBuY29tbWVyY2UmZnVuYz1jYXRlZ29yeXZpZXcmQ2 F0ZWdvcnlJRD0yMDYmQ2F0ZWdvcnlOYW1lPUZhbnRhc3klMjAv JTIwRmV0aXNo" length="-1" state="2" mimeType="text/html" httpCode="200" level="2" title="d3d3LmJlc3RuYXVnaHR5ZGVhbHMuY29tIDo6IEFkdWx 0IFByaWNlIENvbXBhcmlzb24=" requested="2007-02-28T14:20:24.063+0100" pingTime="1632" getTime="841" changeFrequency="0" priority="0"/>

As you can see the url and title are… well… garbled. Are they supposed to be?

I’m totally new to this.

I’ve already submitted these to google, so if google comes back and tells me I must have been on CRACK … well then… I’d like to know how to fix it.

Thanks very much.

That is just a bit odd – can you provide me with a website address and I’ll run it the sitemap myself.

Thanks and welcome to the forum!

    Jim.

Sorry for the late reply. Website is bestnaughtydeals.com Its an adult store so please be forwarned. I also used the tool on my blog which is only a few pages but is also adult ht tp: //blog.bestnaughtydeals.com it had the same garbled response.

The last tool indexed pages really well but I was still adding a ton of stuff to the database. I think the tool is best to use for me because it will also index product pages, and there’s too many of those for me to index by hand.

With the new one I got the garbled result.

I am using Firefox so perhaps that’s the problem? I didn’t think of trying it with IE but maybe I should.

    Thanks for your help.

I checked out your site, spidered all 1731 pages (excluding images) and generated every type of sitemap and never once had an entry like what you display.

Can you explain to me each step that you took to product that file? Walk me through the process so I can see exactly what is going on.

    Thanks,

    Jim.

    Ok,

    I went to url:
    auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp
And clicked the little java generator button.

I use firefox browser but I’m not sure that’s a problem.

A window popped up and I had it spider my site. Everything looked fine. Took it a while because my site it big. It came up with 2 pages in red ..errored… and I clicked to have those deleted from the list. When that was done I saved or exported the file as a .xml

    That’s it.

    Should I try again?

I’ve tried it again both using firefox and internet explorer and both times they work now.

I have no idea what was wrong before but it works now.

    YAY!

So no further help needed. Thx.
