I know a lot of people want cheap hosting but really why? You get what you pay for. I only use the free and 5 dollar accounts when I know it not a critical site . Everything else I stick on my own server. If you are looking for a good web hosting or servers for ASP/.NET sites I can recommend Server Intellect. Very good reasonably prices, and very very good tech support. My 2 cents.

1and1.com:
It appears that with 1and1, I can get more of a server for almost $200 month cheaper!
The big items make 1and1.com stand out ahead of serverintellect.com and 1and1 besides the $200 monthly savings are 6 additional GB of RAM, 250 GB more disk space and 3,000 GB Bandwidth.
That was significant enough that I had to post it here so that readers understand there are less expensive ASP / ASp.net hosting options out there.
Regards,
Jim.
Honestly I learned along time ago to stop buying services on price alone. I have seen you preach on here how free web host have to many "gotchas ya" fine print moments. So do cheap servers. Really when you lease a server you want support over anything else. I am not looking for ten 19 olds supporting my server, I want some bonafide Cert-ed techs working with me to resolve issues. If I have to spend $400 more a month I will just to know when it is crunch time I have support. Cheap servers are for when dont have a $80,000 client needing top support, and your hosting your own sites.
On a side note, I believe your comparing 1&1′s unmanaged server to Server Intellect Managed servers. That is a big difference. I also saw that 1&1′s sales offers are only for 3 months then they jack you up to full price. Read the fine print=)
