Where do I use this code in my web site?

I see I need to use:

<a href="http://www.auditmypc.com/freescan/antispam.html" target="_blank">
Anti Spam</a>

but do I:

1. Place it only on the main index page?
2. Do I place it in the HEAD portion?

Thank you very much for helping us all reduce this despicable spam.

TIA.
Harry

    Hello Harry,

You can place the antispam on any page you like, the main page will work just fine.

The bottom of the page or sidebar is usually where people place this, but it can be anywhere on the page you like (after the <body> tag).

    Best regards,

    Jim.

    Thank you very much.

  3. Elvis says:

    Thanks very much.

Post those addresses on your site won’t help you, just the link to the antispam page.

The goal is to send the spam bots from your site to the antispam page and I believe what you’re suggesting will keep them longer on your site.

    Hope that helps!

    Regards,

    Jim.

Thank you, Jim. Makes sense to me now.

I see you have already taken care of the infinite looping part. Let them suffer!!!! LOL.

If only I could do something about the phone spam I receive every day!

All hours of the day, automated and multiple times a day!

  7. Elvis says:

I hear you. I have the same problem up here in Canada. However, here is how I respond.

If I happen to answer the phone, as soon as they ask for me, I say, "Can I take a message for him?". Spammers hate leaving messages. They will invariably say "No"! If it is an important call from someone legitimate, they will ask to be called.

I also leave it to go to voice mail. Spammers hate this more than option 1.

Finally, if I happen to stumble and reveal to the person that I am the person they are looking for, I tell them I am in the middle of something. Nowadays, the tactic is for them to ask, "When can I call back?". I am happy to give them a time. I tell them, "Call me around 11 AM" on Sunday. What they don’t know is that I am never home at that time – I am at church!

  8. Elvis says:

In addition, can I also post a page full of those addresses commented out in HTML somewhere on my web site?

The wonders of copy and paste – I can repeat them till I have a page full!!

  9. phenomenon says:

    hi elvis,

going to the church and lying to people! how does that fit together?

  10. Elvis says:

With the greatest of difficulty! Church-goers are human, too. I will guarantee there has never been, nor ever will be, one that has never told a little white lie. In this case, tough times require tough measures. Moreover, I did not actually lie. I only told them to call me at 11 AM. I may, or may not be home. I never told them I will be home! That is when I would really be lying!
