How to Generate a XML Sitemap

Here is a short webmaster tool video on how to create a XML sitemap for a website, in this case it's a wordpress blog. The video is less than 60 seconds.

It does not have sound, it's just a quick overview of me spidering a website, finding and removing an error, then saving out the xml sitemap file.

Hi, I am excited that this will make building a sitemap easy, but when I go to download it, there is a warning pop up that says the electronic signature has expired. I am a little stuck here....

That would be a notice that my certificate expired. If I pay the fee every year, the powers that be will made it so that notice doesn't pop up.

My thinking is, I paid once and I don't make any money from the service, so I'm not going to keep paying just to suppress that message. My site has been around a lifetime (at least in internet years) and It's not a fly by night operation. It's up to you to decide if you want to run the application or not, but I can personally vouch for the application

When I click the widget to download the sitemap generator all I get is a bar at top saying to be sure and log out of my web site. I'm not logged into my site but nothing else ever comes on the screen.

Same here. There must be something wrong with the page!

I found the solution in another thread:

Try this - reboot your PC and then go straight to http://www.auditmypc.com/xml-sitemap.asp

I just tried it and it got me past the message about logging out of my website.
