Default Sitemap problem

Just a beginner doin a bit of experimenting at the mo.
I got this old looking site from megaweath pages just to get the feel of adsense really. Its been on-line for about a month and to help it along i was trying to submit a sitemap to google ? google are reporting errors? i tried your site mapping tool which reported "Bad HTTP response codes" to all of my sub pages? any help would be much appreciated.
My site url is Cool Articles: Valuable Information on Popular Topics..

Default Sitemap problems

I just sent you a private message for the location of my new webmaster tool (should be good until next week, then it changes).

If you use this tool, you’ll see that the pages that have 404 errors on them. Next to them, there is a column with the In-L (incoming links) and if you click on the + sign, you’ll see the webpage that is calling that url.

Your urls do not have an ending /

This is throwing my webtool off. I see that ax-media.org/pages/accounting has a
href="do-you-need-accounting-software-for-your-small.html"
which is being translated to:
ax-media.org/pages/do-you-need-accounting-software-for-your-small.html
rather than
ax-media.org/pages/accounting/do-you-need-accounting-software-for-your-small.html

I’ll work on changing the way it looks at pages with an extension and let you know when it’s fixed.

Regards,

Jim.

Default 404 Errors

Update: the problem with missing forward slash has been corrected, so those 404 errors should not appear again under these conditions.

Thanks!

Hi Jim, Just tried the sitemapping tool again.. works great on the first directory but i'm getting a "301 Moved Permanently" error on all of the others? I revised all of the pages at the weekend to get rid of those --> characters, could this be a clue? don't know what else to try.

Thanks

Dave

Default 301 permanent redirect

Hi Dave,

I ran the site, not the whole thing, just first few hundred pages and didn't see any 301 errors?

Can you give me a couple of urls to look at?

Regards,

Jim.
