Default XMl Sitemap Link

Send me a private message with the link to your sitemap and I'll look at it.

Regards,

Jim.

Default Sitemap not accepted.

Hello Latina,

To send a private message, simply click on my username and you'll see options such as the ability to send me a private message.

The sitemap you have is a HTML sitemap. HTML Sitemaps are not accepted by the Google Sitemap program. They are read by all robots, such as the GoogleBot, but if you want to create a sitemap specifically for Google's Sitemap program, you need to save your sitemap out as 'Google Sitemap' rather than 'HTML Sitemap'.

Options to save out the file can be found under the 'Sitemap' Tab of the webmaster tool, then the 'Save Sitemap' Tab.

You are on the right track, you just need to save it as a different format.

The HTML sitemap that you have will work for all search engines and you can leave that. Google will read the HTML sitemap and you don't need to submit it to Google.

You only need to submit to Google the 'Google Sitemap' if you choose to use that.

I know it all seems confusing, so if you need me to reword this, just say so.

Let me know your status.

Regards,

Jim.
