Visits Per Day

Jim,

‘Was reading a number of posts on your site and was wondering what you think is the minimum number of visits per day need to rank at all on Google and Yahoo.

Thanks Jim,

Roger

P.S. Aren’t you due for writing your own search engine? I’m sure you know how to do it. They must be profitable. I remeber when Iwon.com was advertising on television that it was giving away $10,000 every day.

Good deep question! It’s all in the topic and if it’s a competitive one, then you’ll need a lot to move. An exact number? No idea. I did notice that you are ranking well (#1 in fact) for a term and if you look at that, it should tell you something [I'll PM you the term].

I just focus the entire site around my keyword and the rest seems to just fall into place. I believe that your theme has a major impact on how it performs in the search results.

ht tp: //tweakedoutthemes.com/ – it’s a site I plan on offering many of my themes for free, some wordpress, some not.

As for writing my own search engine – that would be a major undertaking. The code to spider the sites, record the data and allow people to search results would not be hard, but thinking up all the algorithms to filter out spam, artificial results and calculate popularity is far beyond my
possibilities frontier! Thanks for the vote of confidence however

    Jim,

My Google Webmaster tools account shows me about 15 terms I ranked well on, but how did you find a term I ranked #1 on? Did you just happen to find it?

    Thanks Marc,

    Roger

It’s part of a discovery tool I designed to help me when doing research. It’s not a 100% accurate, but it usually hits the marc

    Jim.

    JIm,

I didn’t see your discovery tool on this page of yours
    auditmypc.com/web-security-resources.asp

Is it availble to your readers?

    Thanks,

    Roger

    Hi Roger,

It’s not available at this time – I have it tweaked with a ton of personal utilities but once I have time, I’ll look at making it more generic and perhaps placing it online.

    Regards,

    Jim.

    Roger,

When I do make my research tool available, you will be the first to know – I would love for you to help me test it before it goes live. It will be some time before I do this, but when I do, you’ll know.

    Best regards,

    Jim.
