Hello,
My site is http://www.nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital
- Test page is http://www.nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/velocidad.htm
- speedometer.zip is http://www.nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/speedometer.zip
- speedtest.zip is http://www.nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/downloads/speedtest.zip and it’s 24 MB
…but if you see my site, the plugin have a red X
:-(
Could you help me?

Can I help? Well sure I can, and welcome to the forum.
The problem is in your archive = statement. Notice that plus at the end?
archive="speedmeter_z.jar+"
Try it without the plus
archive="speedmeter_z.jar"
And don’t forget – you can have the speed test buttons customized to your language, rather then English – it’s easy to do! If you want that, let me know and I’ll tell you how to do it in less than 60 seconds
Regards,
Jim.
Hello Jim,
Thanks and sorry but my english
It’s now my page code. I have deleted the "+" but it doesn’t work:
<applet name="speedometerApplet" code="speedometer.SpeedometerApplet.class" archive="speedmeter_z.jar" width="500" height="120">
<param name="downloadUrl" value="nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/downloads/speedtesting.zip"></param>
<param name="downloadTimeSec" value="10"></param>
<param name="uploadUrl" value="nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital"></param>
<param name="uploadTimeSec" value="10"></param>
<param name="target" value="_blank"></param>
<param name="uploadDataLength" value="10000000"></param>
<param name="cmdTest.text" value="Run Tests"></param>
<param name="cmdTestUpload.text" value="Run Upload Test"></param>
<param name="lbUpload.text" value="Upload"></param>
<param name="cmdTestDownload.text" value="Run Download Test"></param>
<param name="lbDownload.text" value="Download"></param>
</applet>
No problem on the English – you are doing great!
Where is your speedmeter_z.jar file located now?
The speedmeter_z.jar should be placed in the nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/ directory.
When I type this in my browser:
nodo50.org/tpdigital/eldialdigital/speedmeter_z.jar
I should see be prompted for something, not a 404.
Once you have this set, then should work fine.
And questions for you:
What do these translate to in your language?
Run Tests = ?
Run Upload Test = ?
Upload = ?
Run Download Test = ?
Download = ?
Regards,
Jim.
Hi,
speedmeter_z.jar need a password, and Jim doesn’t give my any password
Jim does give you a password the speedometer.zip, it’s right under the zip file. Here, I have pasted the text from AuditMyPC.com exactly as post there. Can you see the password?
Download SpeedoMeter.zip and place it in the same directory as your webpage; note that this file has a password of www.auditmypc.com
No, I cannot see the password
Jim didn’t send me the zip file. I downloaded the zip file from the web.
use this password:
www.auditmypc.com
The website address is the password.
Ups…. ok ok ok
Let me know when it is up and running and how the speed test is working for you.
Regards,
Jim.
