The bots will not see them as far as I know, I have done some serious testing on this.
People use the tool not to hide data from humans, but rather from the bots (search engines).
Yup – and why would someone want to do this. It all boils down to money, and lots of it.
Say that you are targeting a keyword on your page but have text on your page that is unrelated to the keyword from time to time.
That text can skew Google’s adsense bots and they will look at your page as a whole to determine the type of ad. But, when you encode the unrelated text, the adsense bot does not see the unrelated text and the page looks more targeted.
Adsense now has a way to exclude content from being factored into their ads which works great.
As for hiding your keywords and information from humans, that is just about impossible.
The fact is, your competition will find your cached page, review it and see your keywords.
It is very competitive out there!
