How come the generator would be skipping most of our links? I am unable to see expanded information; under the "error" column, the skipped links say "server load…" and I cannot see the rest of the message.

Where a server error is reported, it’s simply saying that when the sitemap generator tried to access that page (url), it’s receiving an error from your server. There is nothing we can do on our end except skip the page (it won’t load anyway).
Depending on your web host, they could see too many requests coming in from the sitemap generator and stop pages from loading after a certain point. They wouldn’t do this for everyone, just your ip address. I have built into the sitemap generator a time delay, so that you can increase the time between page requests. Try that and see what happens – also, can you load the page that the sitemap generator reported having an error on?
If that doesn’t work and you need more help – send me the url of the page that is not loading and I’ll try it on my end.
