Java Runtime Environment Cannot Be Loaded or Java Plug-in Fatal Error
From what I understand, it’s a Java bug that happens when they release a new version (update) and forget to delete old files.
Here is the solution to this error:
Close Internet Explorer.
Rename your
C:Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataSunJava
directory to Java-old
If you click start and look at the log off ??? (username) in XP, that is the username that should appear in the<username> part of the path below.
C:Documents and Settings<user name>ApplicationDataSunJava
So, in my case, I am user Admin, so I renamed
C:Documents and SettingsAdminApplication DataSunJava
to
C:Documents and SettingsAdminApplication DataSunJava-old
After you rename the Java directory (IE being closed), then reboot the computer.
This worked for me and I found this was a solution on the java forums as well.

So I’m trying to use your process for fixing my error, but after the Application Data there is no option to select Sun.
HELP!
Perhaps you do not have Java by Sun installed on your system? Once it’s installed, it should show up there.
