Hello and welcome to the forum Varalagom!

I need more information, such as the location of your speedtest. You can post it here or click on AMPC to the left and use the ‘send private message’ option.

    Regards,

    Jim.

Thank you – when you say "location", is this my physical location?

  3. AMPC says:

The location of your website that you are trying to install the speed test on.

    - But, after re-reading your post, I see that you are not installing one of the speed tests, but rather using it to test your speed, correct

Try one of these tests, the first one being a server with the most bandwidth.

Java Speed Test or this speed test

The Internet Speed Test on AuditMyPC receives a ton of traffic and can produce this message from time to time.

    Regards,

    Jim.

….I did the Java Speed Test and also Flash. Here are results:

    Java – Download – 835 Kbps / Upload – 205 Kbps

    Flash – Download – 539 Kbps / Upload – 145 Kbps

The issue is "why has my computer been much slower the past 3 weeks or so??" Running Audit My Pc Speed Test has shown download speed much better then upload speed. What does this mean I wonder and how to correct this?

I have wireless broadband service with "up to" 3,2 Mbps thought I’ve never gotten even half of this. However, what I’ve been receiving is much better then my old dial up 56 Kbps! I live in rural Sweden and the 3-G tower is only about 500 yards away with no obstructions.

Would appreciate any guidance you could give Jim, and many thanks!!:

I’m not sure why your speed has changed in the last month but some ideas are:

Unsecured router and others are now using it
The ISP needed more bandwidth and decided to lower your cap.
Software was installed that is communication with the net.
    Flaky router.

Do you notice the Drop in speed at all hours of the day? If you check it late at night, is it normal?

Is there anything else running on your computer? I take it your computer is the only one on your internal network; if not, perhaps something new is running on those systems.

You can always use a packet sniffer to monitor the traffic.

Are there others in your area using the same setup? If so, have they noticed a drop as well? What are their speed test results?

    Regards,

    Jim.
