Google Sitemap incorrect results

I’ve been using the old Google Sitemap with no problem whatsoever, very satisfied.

Since it’s no longer available, I’m forced to use the Webmaster Tool.

I’ve 1404 URL(as shown in the Webmaster Tool) but when I save the file and submitted to Google, it’s only 1076.

I’ve noticed that there are reported http code 301 and 302. Are these two codes excluded from the google sitemap?

Also the 302 is reported incorrectly.

So now I’m force to resubmit the old backup sitemap.xml but it seems to be not working. Still pending after a few hours in the google webmaster sitemap.

By the way, how to edit the Modified column using the Webmaster Tool? This column is opened for modification in the old Google Sitemap.

Is it possible to get the old Google Sitemap generator while waiting for you to rectify the system?

Thank you.

    Hello,

Send me a private message with a link to your sitemap and I’ll take a look.

Also, give me an example of a url that was included in the webmaster tool but not pushed over to the sitemap.

The old tool is dead, it needs to rest in peace. The new tool is far better than the old tool. The old tool had bugs and is no longer supported.

Right click to modify the column, such as priority, etc.

    Regards,

    Jim.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

I’ll PM to you my URL, perhaps you can try to test run at your end.

I guess this is much easier because I am not sure which URL is not pushed over to the sitemap.

What I am very sure is the result is differ from what is being shown on the screen.

I can right click to change the priority column. But I am unable to do so for the "Modified" column. I am unable to input the date and time for the column.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I see a lot of 301′s messages – this is not bad, you are telling the bots that you have a new page and redirecting them to it. 301 messages will not be included in the sitemap, so that is 378 pages that will be skipped.

I also noticed a good number of missing titles which you’ll want to fix.

As for the ability to change the modified date, that is not possible with this version, but I have added it to the list of suggestions at the top of this forum.

    Regards,

    Jim.

    How about the 302?

I can’t understand why there is 302 for some of the pages. It seems to be incorrect. Hope you can explain a bit.

Perhaps Jim, you want to add a new feature with an option to allow user to include 301 into the Google sitemap. Some of my page is temporarily redirect so i still want Google to take in those pages.

I would rather tell Google all my pages and let Google decide which one to exclude. Because from the Google Webmaster Tools, those files will be excluded by Google anyway.

Honestly, it looks like I am stuck with this Google Sitemap.

I try to find all over the web, but I can’t find any tool as good as yours with unlimited pages.

And with this new webmaster tool, I don’t think I will use it, not at the moment at least.

It’s too bad I’ve to do without Google Sitemap.

Hopefully you’ll update the new version with the modified date feature as well as the 301 inclusive.

    Thanks.

There is an option to include skipped links into the sitemap, it is located on the same page as the exclusions.

Do you have an example of a page with a 302 that is incorrect? If so, post it and I’ll look at it.

I am pleased that my sitemap generator is the best free one out there. I have put a lot of time into this and it is nice to know

    Regards,

    Jim.
