Everyone has heard about free web hosting, but beware, not all is free!
Take for example blogger.com where you can create your own blog for free, nothing needed. Seems easy enough but what you are not told is that it’s NOT your blog.
You spend the time creating the site and building a good number of backlinks (other sites that link to you because they like your site), but then one day, your site is shut down or you want to move or sell it.
With these free hosting companies, there is no way to transfer the backlinks to your new site, plus, the search engines will not give your new site the same rankings as your old site.
Sure, you can use what is called ‘redirects’, but it’s not the same.
There are a TON of web hosting companies that you can use for your website for very little cost, $5 – 15 per month. These sites not only offer you improved speed, but allow you to transfer your domain to another host without being penalized!
