Flash Speed Test Instructions

Here information and bug fixes for the flash speed test.

The latest version (1.06) was updated on 11/18/08, so if you have a version before that, you'll want to download the new version found here:

The page above will provide you with all the instructions you need to install this application. Basically, just unzip the file contents into a subdirectory on your server and you're all set. Simply visit that directory and the test will run.


Note: All the files in the zip file will need to be in the same directory as the page with the speed test in it.


Update History:
8/11/08 - Removed the requirement to register and trust that you'll give me credit should you decide to use the test. Speed test can now be run on an internal or external network.

Combined all files into one download file.

8/2/08 - Improved accuracy for high bandwidth connections.

7/23/07 - Speed test accuracy fixed - will work the same on all systems (depending on what you have using bandwidth at test time).

5/8/07 - Updated the logging of results to a file or database. New design.

4/10/07 - Upload bug with sites serving the flash speed test on high speed connections (ISP's, etc). The speed test would report upload error. This has now been fixed.

4/1/07 - Initial release (Beta)
