Question about embedded web browser
I noticed sometime ago when checking my stream logs oline that I am using an "embedded web browser" Below is a snippet of what I see.

User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Embedded Web Browser from: http://bsalsa.com/; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 4.0) |
Have checked and is not a proxy issue I never downloaded or installed software from bsalsa.com
Does anyone know anything about this? How it is installed or what programs use it, etc. I reinstalled ie7 and get same results

Hello Delta,
Looks like a legit application and one that a software developer could use to send and receive information from the internet or provide internet functionality to their application.
Without knowing more about the embedded web browser, I am guessing that at sometime you or someone else downloaded an application and the application, without your knowledge, installed the Embedded Web Browser component package.
You could install process explorer which will tell you what processes are running at the time the application.
Another excellent tool is TCPView which will show you what programs are communicating over the internet.
These should help you zero in on the offending application.
Please post back as you find information so that others may benefit from your experience.
Best regards,
Jim.
