Does this speed test actually run locally? In otherwords I am looking for a speed test we can run from local servers to test bandwidth. I don’t want it actually leaving our network to run the test. If it has to "phone home" to authenticate that is fine.
Does this test fit that criteria?
Thanks,
Justin

Hello Justin,
It does need to phone home – The conversation goes like this: Does [yoursite] have permission to run the test? Yes, then OK. No, then don’t run.
If you are behind a firewall and running the app on a local pc, it may ask something like:
Does 192.168.1.100 have permission to run the test?
The answer is going to be no – 192.168.1.100 is not unique and is non routable.
Tell me more of what you had in mind and where you are thinking about giving me credit – perhaps something can be worked out.
By the way – welcome to the forum.
Best regards,
Jim.
We were planning on a link on the front page of www.ndwave.com, as well as the link I put on ndwave.com/speedtest/speedtest.htm next to the speed test.
NDWave also sends a monthly newsletter out to close to 1,000 people. We would include a link to auditmypc.com in there for at least 3 months.
I do consulting for several other Wireless ISPs and we would consider using it and marketing auditmypc.com to those customers as well should this work out the way I hope.

Hi,
We have two distinct situations:
We have technicians in the field and need to test speed to a specific box that’s on our network. There will be various of these boxes scattered about.
Also, we have customers who want to check their speed as well. We can give credit to these customers.
Can we run the tests simply to our servers to test internal speeds?
Thanks
Tim
