I have been getting this (Connect refused) for days now, regardless of time of day. Is there anything I can do to resolve?
Thanks!

Hello Ed,
What speed test are you referring to? What is the website address of the speedtest and I’ll be able to provide more information.
Regards,
Jim.
Hi Jim,
I was referring to the main Java based test that’s on this site (auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp) . The message reads: Connection refused: connect.
I just tried it again and got the same message.
Thanks,
Ed
I receive a "Connection Refused" message whenever I access the speed test located at: auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp
I am a RoadRunner cable subscriber.
Hello Ed,
That test is one of the most popular on the net and I had to put a cap on the number of users. That indicates that too many people are using it and it can’t accept anymore connections.
Also, sorry about you having to post multiple times to the forum and I’m guessing that you thought your post was not making it, correct? I have the system set hold each post for approval before making it public; unfortunately, I get tons of spam (people trying to post just with a link) and had to move to this step. After so many posts, approval is not required.
I’ll rest it right now….
That’s the best I can do until I get another server.
Regards,
Jim.
Hi Jim,
I don’t think I posted multiple times for exactly the same thing, but if I did it was an accident!
I miss being able to use your speed test as I have used lots of others and find this the most accurate by far. I guess it is so heavily used as to be virtually unavailable. I haven’t been able to run even a single test in over a week.
I , for one, would not object to paying a small subscription fee to support better ( and to some degree guaranteed
) access to the test.
FWIW.
Thanks
Ed
Good suggestion!
I hate to charge for anything but I am going to make a speed test just for those that are subscribed to the newsletter (which I need to put out).
I’ll let you know as soon as I do this.
Best regards,
Jim.
Thanks for the response. Yep, I am the one who posted my question multiple times. I noticed the comment AFTER I posted (that was a newbie mistake… needed some sleep last night… sorry ;-)
However, this being said, I am still unable to start a test on that page. I tried early in the morning (California morning ;-), afternoons and evenings with the same "connection refused" message.
Up to about a week or so ago, I had no problems using that site and only occcasionally received the too busy message. That’s why I was wondering if my "rr.com" domain might have been blocked?
I just received RR’s "PowerBoost" (24mbps/dwn for ~10 seconds) service and I wanted to check on your site as it proved to be the most accurate to date.
I’ll get another speed test set up today or tomorrow and send you a private message with the location. You’ll be the only one using it, so there should be no problems at all.
Thanks for posting.
Jim.
