Default Launcher launcher.exe

Hello, I am a new member and this will be my first post... I arrived at this site looking for information on this topic. Launcher launcher.exe

I am running a program called winpatrol and learning to use it, in the start up section I found this start up

wanting to know what it is, I came up with information that this is a bad thing to have running in my computer... the thing is that no spyware, no antivirus scan had detected it before... the only place I see it is in this winpatrol section... I disabled it to prevent it to start up... but I need to get rid of this

Startup Location: * Disabled *
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Once
%WINDIR%\SMINST\LAUNCHER.EXE
Status: local file not found

I tried to find the location but I could not
I went to run, msconfig, start up... it is not there
I used windows defender tools software explorer and it is not there

How can I make sure it is actually not there? or if it was removed but somehow something was left behind? and if that is the case, how can I remove it?

Your site has information about this, but I could not find instructions on how to remove it...

I am using Windows Vista home premium

Any help or words of advice would be greatly appreciated...

thanks in advance

Default Launcher.exe

Have you tried searching for LAUNCHER.EXE?

If it is there, it should be in the WINDOWS\SMINST\ directory.

Best regards,

Jim.
