I’ve put 1.04 and 1.05 side by side on multiple tests and found 1.04 to be almost accurate on every run out of 30, while 1.05 is always miles off the mark by a good 30 to 60% or so. I get the same problem when trying the tester on this site and other sites using the same test, likewise using a different browser makes no difference.
Is there any way to go back to v1.04 since that seemed to do the job far better for some reason?

Broadband ADSL line that usually does around 3Mbps and is fairly static within the 2.6Mbps to 3.6Mbps transfer speed range. Every tester I’ve tried, including 1.04, seemed to report roughly in this region but as soon as I upgraded to 1.05 I noticed several things.
1) Dramatic drop in reported speed, with results almost always in the sub-1Mbps region, even while lots of other tests and 1.04 would still report more correct values around the 2.8Mbps+ range. Likewise downloads of fully compressed zip files would run at the current speed from my server too as opposed to the sub-1Mbps value reported in 1.05.
2) The stick marker on the test that moves with the speed jumps violently up and down before settling on something very low, even though the actual data transfer my net monitor reports is smooth. Once again, 1.04 was smooth too, unfortunately 1.04 was stopped.
3) Upload speeds have also been recorded very low, sometimes down to 190Kbps, even though upstream is almost stable around the 380Kbps to 394Kbps range in other testers and 1.04.

Ok, *cough*, I figured out what was wrong.
The server host seems to have stuck a bandwidth transfer cap on my domain so nobody can download from the server at over around 800Kbps. My tests on 1.05 were conducted after this, while my tests on 1.04 were conducted just before.
To solve the problem I shifted the tester onto separate webspace away from the ISPreview.co.uk domain. Could you please make sure that it is authorized to work from the new location too?
