    Hi Dave,

Cool site and did you know that you can increase or decrease the size of the speed test so that it fits in perfectly with your ads? Actually, you’re placement looks great, I just thought you might like to know that.

As for error messages, I didn’t receive any and everything ran fine….

    Let me know,

    Thanks.

That’s interesting. I keep getting authentication errors on my PC, yet it works on others.

Could this be the "samedomain" variable?

    What about v10 of flash?

    BTW, thanks for the compliments,
    Dave H

We have been recently experiencing the "Authentication Error…" also The page we stood up last summer, broadaspect.com/speedtest/ Logs results to a SQL table and has been great.

Right now, on my new Vista PC I can’t get the speed test to run, however on serveral different PC’s I have not had an issue yet! Calling customers to have them test their new broadband service, some can use the system others can’t. What could be causing this? Is this a particular issue with different Operating systems?

I have submitted the request for usage of this application a few times on the Audit My PC website. Does that not really have a direct affect?

    Thanks!
    Nick

    Hello Nick,

Then you submit a request, your information goes into a database, but right now, anybody that places the speedtest on their site will see that it runs, registered or not.

Later when I have time, I’ll weed out the sites using the speedtest that have not registered.

So… You should not be having any problems. I just ran the test and it worked fine for me, but when I get time this weekend I’ll take a look at the log files and see if I can spot anything.

BTW – I love your site colors!

    Regards,

    Jim.

Yup – Seems to be a problem with some browsers. I’m not sure why this just started, but I have a new version ready and it will never again produce such an error.

I have sent the link out in the newletter / update which is located on this page:
    auditmypc.com/broadband-speed-test.asp

I don’t have the sidebar test completed yet, but I’m working on it and will then send out the newsletter.

Let me know how this works for you Todd.

    Regards,

    Jim.

    Jim,

I was able to download your update via FireFox. IE7 doesn’t like something about your url. Thank you kindly for the updated Flash file, it has made the speedtester on our site work correctly again.

    broadaspect.com/speedtest/

Also, thanks for making the code "extensible" to capture results. I wrote a few ASP scripts to store speedtest results from IP’s on our Broadband network in our SQL based IPmanagement system, so that we have test results available for our tech support team. It is nice to have a customer run the test while we are on the phone with them and we can immediately see the results against their customer config.

    Thanks! -Nick

    Hello Nick,

What kind of problem did you have with IE? Problem with downloading? Visiting the page, etc.

I just ran it myself and couldn’t duplicate it, so I need you to walk me through it if you would.

Thanks – and cool site by the way!

    Regards,

    Jim.
